Tree House Barn

We had been planning to restore Tree House Barn for years as the 19th Century brick cow barns were beginning to fall down. Tree House Barn is in a Conservation Area because of its close proximity to the Grade 1 listed Pitchford Hall and the famous Pitchford Tree House (the oldest tree house in the world) so great sensitivity was required to ensure that they sit well within their historic surroundings. The barns are set within the cow and sheep grazed fields of Pitchford Park Farm, one of the three working farms on the Pitchford Estate.

We've tried to make the most of the resources around the house. Your water comes from a nearby well and the renewable heating comes from an air source heat pump. We've also planted trees and hedges to improve the habitat around the barns and the bat box is on one of the gables.

Inside, Tree House Barn consists of two double bedrooms (one double bed and two twin beds) a contemporary open plan kitchen and oak panelled sitting room.

Both bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms. Like Windy Mundy Farm and Stockbatch Granary the internal spec is impressive with the kitchen by Metris, the bathrooms by CP Hart and the lighting is from the Barcelona based designer - Gema Povo.

The Grade I listed Pitchford Hall is a few hundred meters away from the Barn and access to the historic house, tree house and gardens can be arranged through the Estate.

In addition to the usual items such as linen and a well equipped kitchen, Tree House Barn offers the following facilities:

  • Views of the oldest tree house in the world
  • Ensuite bath & shower rooms
  • Designer open plan fitted kitchen & oak panelled sitting room
  • Garden with patio and lawn
  • Heating provided by renewable energy
  • Highchair & Cot
  • Washing machine/dryer
  • Satellite TV and DVD
  • Antique furniture
  • Ample parking
